Sax&Organ has been founded by Josef Schultner and Ines Schüttengruber in 2006.

After the first concerts in the province of Lower Austria (the church of Neukloster Wr. Neustadt) and Vienna we started on an international scale with concerts in Italy and Hungary. During these concerts we recorded 2 CDs:

The most recent concerts took place in the cathedral of Wr. Neustadt (Lower Austria), in Venice, and, in 2013, in cooperation with the Österreichischen Kulturforum Budapest (Hungary) in Pécs, Balatonlelle and Siofók.

The program of Sax&Organ combines free improvisations (Sax solos and Sax & Organ in combination) with improvisations of Gregorian melodies and variations of Gregorian chants. Moreover, we play original works for sax and organ and a cross-over from original pieces from the 17th to the 21st century.

The original pieces chosen are selected according to the instrument in use, varying between soprano saxophone and tenor sax.

In 2014 we are planning concerts in Italy, Spain and Austria.
